Pet parrents these days are more concerned about their pet's health and are asking questions about what is the best dog food brand.Really all you need to do to get the best dog food brand is to read and understand the list of ingredients on the label. I wish it was that easy, but the deceptive wording used by the dog food industry makes it a bit more difficult. When you search for healthy foods for humans the task seems fairly easy, however when checking for the best dog food brands the task becomes very daunting and the facts are certainly unclear and confusing. The problem is the pet food manufactories are allowed to use ingredients that are marked not fit for human consumption in their products. Not only can they use this left over by-product crap, they are allowed to call it healthy sounding names. One would imagine that seeing dried eggs as ingredients for dog foods would mean the foods are good. The fact is that these foods can contain eggs, egg shells, and similar tissues which are unfit for human consumption. In my research for the best dog food brands, I found a list of 68 ingredients like the one listed above, that if found on your dog food label, you should immediately stop feeding it to your dog. 28 of these 68 are actually deadly ingredients, and why they won't kill your dog today, they will shorten her life considerably. I also found a free confidential dog food report written by a guy that has hired a testing firm to find the best dog food brands in North America. The report is copyright protected, so I can't re-print it in this article. After analyzing most know commercially made dog food in North America they only found nine that were healthy enough to make the list. The report also lists 27 well know brands that didn't make the cut, and give reasons why not. Some brands that aren't good enough to make the list are Iams, Science Diet, and Eukanuba. On account of the stated reasons, six brands were eliminated from this second report. The report gives details about the pros and cons of every brand. From what I learnt about commercial dog food during my research, I now feed both our dogs a homemade diet, but there are times you just need to be able to pour some food out of a bag I personally won't risk the health of my best friends, because I'm to lazy to either cook them food, or at the very least buy them one of the healthiest, best dog food brands I can find.
